The enemy of profit: what it is may surprise you

Some time ago, I was a store manager trying my best to maximize profits in an increasingly competitive market. I was surprised to discover that the enemy of profit wasn't just the competition, but something else entirely: the very reports I relied on to make important decisions.

I'll never forget the time I received notice of an issue in a report, but it was far too late to investigate or resolve the problem. Or how inaccurate forecasts led to shortages and overstocks, throwing our inventory into chaos. Time and time again, I found myself hunting for information that seemed to be hidden within the reports I was supposed to trust.

The pressure to perform with misleading information only added to my stress. I often wondered, how much more could I earn if I had access to the right information when I needed it? And yes, I've made some costly mistakes due to incomplete or misleading data.

The cost of not knowing started to weigh heavily on me. I realized that traditional reports, while great for tracking financial performance, weren't ideal for making critical operational decisions. They were like a worn sweater that no longer kept me warm. Were they truly helpful, or just the only option I had?

This realization led me to question if managing operations using financial reports was, in fact, the enemy of profit.

Despair not! There is a new player in town: The IDW Method™ Rapid Earnings Workshop, "Change Your Glasses!" I created this workshop to provide the tools and insights needed to transform the reporting process and make it easier to take control of your profits. And, I enlisted some top international mentors to help. A class, a relevant project, and a mentor to help, each week for two weeks, to put on a “new pair of glasses, ¨ and run your business more profitably.
